HIGHLAND LANDS CENTRE OF LEADERSHIP FOR DEVELOPMENT (HLC-L4D) (Rwanda)

The High Lands Centre of Leadership for Development (L4D) is a private non-profit policy research and mentorship centre, established in 2012 and registered since 2012 in Rwanda under the Law No. 07/2009 of 27/04/2009 (Article 16) relating to the registration of companies in Rwanda.  L4D was created with the aim to provide evidence that strengthens the role of research and governance into economic development of Rwanda. Since its creation, L4D has gone through two major phases of growth, the initiation phase (2012-2017) and the positioning phase (2017- 2020). Over the last 8 years, L4D has mainly focused in responding to the various demands in policy research in the form of consultancies and research grants. L4D has a team of research experts, mostly agricultural economists, with extensive experience in conducting policy research in areas of agriculture, climate change, natural resources management, and socio-economic studies. Founded in 2013 in Kinshasa as a nonprofit organization, the CESSI is a private research center whose objective is research and training. CESSI aims to produce analyzes based on conflicts in DR Congo, to constitute a research center in the fields of peace and security in Africa and to build strategic partnerships. CESSI also runs training courses for professionals working in different sectors of society. CESSI research covers the following areas: Conflict, peace building and international security, defense and strategy, geopolitics and international relations, post-conflict reconstruction and development as well as justice, human rights and intercultural relations.

Through its research, CESSI contributes to debate and reflection on collective security and peace, socio-economic development and the emergence of innovative and responsible social organizations.

THE ADAPTIVE LEADERSHIP AFRICA INSTITUTE (Kenya)

The Adaptive Leadership Africa Institute (TALAI) is an African Think-Tank that seeks to generate individual and institutional adaptive capacity to address complex African challenges.The TALAI institute has a growing appreciation for the fact that we live in an era of accelerating change and unprecedented complexity.  Across the board, business and development strategies as they exist today will most certainly be obsolete and unproductive tomorrow. The advent of the Coronavirus pandemic has demonstrated the significance of agile leadership and intelligent communication in the face of unrelenting disruption. TALAI is committed to rigorous research, adaptive leadership development and organizational capacity building. Through this mission, the think tank continually seeks to draw attention, evidence and support to various gaps in human, financial and technical resources that require bridging. As a matter of course, TALAI guides its clients towards vital interventions that are sequenced in such a way as to ensure effective adoption and adaptation for success.

INTERNATIONAL WOMENS CENTRE FOR EMPOWERMENT (IWCE) (Uganda)

International Women’s Centre for Empowerment (IWCE) is an advocacy and lobby organisation that promote women’s rights and gender equity in Africa. IWCE operates in coalition and coordination with other local CSOs, networks, and institutions in the country. IWCE was established to provide space for women organisations that are dealing with sector-specific or women rights issues to connect and collectively share how they could address issues affecting women rather than giving fragmented information on sector-based findings. IWCE has been recognised as an organisation that provides opportunity for women organisations in Africa to seek redress in prevailing government practices, challenge policies for gender implications and provide a forum for establishing credible government accountability.
